Our gift to new zealand
a sustainable future

NEW ZEALAND’S LEADING AQUACULTURE FARM

The ocean has provided nutritious seafood for generations, an essential part of our everyday diet.  We’re driven to create sustainable ways to keep up with demand to support today's ever-growing population.  Using the latest in science and technology, we can grow food from the ocean on land in large volumes without affecting the natural population.  Ocean Beach farmed Abalone are raised in tanks, on land, in water directly from the clear waters of the Foveaux Strait.

NEW ZEALAND PĀUA

Pāua is the Māori name given to three species of large edible sea snails. Known around the world as abalone and in some cultures as "Black Gold".  At Foveaux Paua we grow Blackfoot Pāua. These have distinctive black meat encased in a beautiful blue shell.

New Zealand has a strict Quota Management System in place to maintain sustainable fishing, however, these amounts do not fulfill global demand for the delicacy.  Aquaculture allows for the sustainable production of Pāua in New Zealand, which helps us meet the needs for high volumes of Pāua without compromising wild stocks.
